Our Work

This is where we show up in our community, from a winter ice storm response to events across the county, at our regular gatherings and through the Hope Closet. Rooted In Hope Beyond Survival is here for people rebuilding after crisis and major life events, and we believe that care for the whole person starts with simply being present. Because surviving is just the beginning.

National Night Out

October 6, 2026

National Night Out brings neighbors together in the park, and Rooted In Hope had a table in Bonham. Our table asked one simple question on a small white board: "What brings you hope?" Next to it sat a self-care sheet and a sign-up page for anyone who wanted to hear more. Whole person care often starts with a conversation, and a question like that makes room for one.

Halloween on the Square

October 24, 2026

Downtown Bonham filled up with costumes, candy and families for Boo Bash. We set up a table with a pumpkin tablecloth, a Trick or Treat ghost and a bowl of sweets, and we stood by our banner to say hello. For us, a day like this is about being a familiar, friendly face. When someone is ready to take a next step, they already know where to find us.

Relay For Life

October 17, 2026

We were honored to set up a table in support of the Fannin County American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. We brought flyers, goodie packets, a raffle basket table and information about our Hope Closet. As the sun went down, luminaria bags lined the parking lot. Showing up for neighbors facing one of life's hardest chapters is part of what whole person care means to us.

Woman's Rock Bra's for a Cause

October 24, 2026

One of our board members had a table at Woman's Rock Bras for a Cause, a pink ribbon charity event, and Rooted In Hope joined them there. Whole person care means standing with our neighbors in the moments that matter to them, and sitting down together at the same table is one of the simplest ways to do it.

Café Communications

Not everything we do is a one day event. Café Communications is one of our ongoing groups. It meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, from 6pm to 7pm, at multiple locations across the Texoma region. Coffee is provided at each location.

Warmth, Food and Community Care

January 22 to 28, 2026

During the January 2026 ice storm in Fannin County, the Holiday Inn Express was fully booked and supported emergency management and VA nurses and hospital nurses working 12-, 16- and 18-hour rotations. Rooted In Hope served food from January 22 through January 28, with the main servings January 22 through 26. We were on site cooking crockpot lunches and dinners for hotel guests and people arriving during shift changes. City officials and community response teams who were not staying at the hotel could also come in to eat. Breakfast was open from the Holiday Inn Express. Rooted In Hope made over 600 plates.

Mother's Day Celebration & Bonham Holiday Inn Express

May 2026

Rooted In Hope helped celebrate the mothers who work at a Holiday Inn Express with a Mother's Day celebration. Pink Happy Mother's Day balloons floated above our table, and white mugs each held a small gift wrapped in brown paper. Whole person care includes noticing the people who work hard for others and taking a moment to say thank you.

Hope Closet

The Hope Closet is an ongoing part of Rooted In Hope. Participants earn Hope Bucks for completing classes, and they can redeem them at the Hope Closet. It is one small way we celebrate every step forward.

Texoma Behavioral Health Conference 2026

March 27, 2026

Rooted In Hope Beyond Survival attended the Community Behavioral Health Conference, presented by the Texoma Behavioral Health Leadership Team and celebrating 10 years. We spent the day with others who work in behavioral health across Texoma. Whole person care is stronger when the people who serve our region know one another, and we are grateful for the chance to be in the room.

Fannin County Teachers 2026

July 2026

Teachers from across Fannin County came together for a conference where they could pick up school supplies, put on by some lovely ladies in our community. Rooted In Hope was grateful for the opportunity to set up a table. Ours held green gift bags, fresh flowers and a gift basket, and we were glad to be a friendly face for the people who show up for our kids every day.

Chamber Attendances to multiple counties

August 2026

Rooted In Hope Beyond Survival attended a Chamber event in Denison, Texas, to connect with local business and community leaders. Care for the whole person takes a whole community, and getting to know the people who lead and serve in the towns around us is one way we make sure help is easy to find. We are grateful for the welcome.
